Bike Friendly Certificate

Bike Friendly is a nation-wide certification scheme implemented along Polish greenways for evaluation of tourist and other establishments which are friendly for cyclists and cycling tourists. Similar certificates are developed in Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Denmark, Hungary, Croatia and Slovakia.
Project goal
The main goal of this project is to improve quality of tourist and other services for bicyclists and cycletourists and promote sutainable transport and sustainable tourism.

Bike Friendly - categories of establishments and criteria for certification
The criteria vary by the type of establishment. There are 5 categories of establishments
a) TOURIST ESTABLISHMENTS
1. Accommodation: hotels, B&B, private accommodation, chalets/cottages
2. Gastronomy establishments: restaurants, pubs, bars
3. Camp sites
4. Tourist destinations: museums, open-air museums, natural sites and other tourist attractions.
b) OTHER ESTABLISHMENTS
4. Other establishements promoting sustainable transport (eg. shops, galleries, headquarters of municipalities, city halls etc.)
